Trade system suggestion...
Hello,
I've been posting the suggestion to A-Net support recently about including some improvements into the game. They answered that I should try to start the topic in the one of the community board about this topic. In that case, I'd like to start a topic by this „about adding some new improvements into the trade system“.
As many of you know, almost every MMO has its own trade system. GuildWars has its own trade chat only. It's annoying for me (and I belive that to others as well) to inputting the parameters of items I willing to sell to the trade chat. It has few disadvanteges: its VERY uncomfortable and mostly inefficiency and it does not providing an easy survey. Now what about thinking about the people that just sticking around in town...does it really feel them good see the chat fullfiled with WTS/WTB...? I know, many of you can challenge me with opinion that they can switch off the trade chat. Yes, they can, but let's just take a look at any districts of Lion's Arch, Ascalon City, or Droknar's Forge – sellers post theirs offers even in main chat. But is not the main chat for discussion about game, etc.? In my opinion this prevents people against holding the discusions in these towns.
Most of you know the solution to resolve this problem, that I hope doesn't annoying JUST me. Yes, I'm talking about GuildWars's own trade system. What about add some kind of Isle [like PvP] to GuildWars just for selling/buying, so players can easily chose the item they want. Adding some more options for selling, if this could be auction type, or stable price item. I think it could be really great improvement. If this is impossible in any way to create, then make it possible to create player's own stable in any town, so bystanders could easily buy the item they possibly want. Surely there are more options, but I hope you seeing my point – finally selling the items wihout these annoying messaging over the districts we are seeing these days in larger towns, any way, but has to be comfortable to use and easy to buy...
I know GuildWars is primary PvP game, but there are plenty of players that want to PvE, so I think even a PvE section of game should be improved by time. Please, I would be happy to see if you join the discussion and you could post your opinion below, so ArenaNet could see community needs.
Thank you for reading (and sorry for my english – I'm not from any english speaking countries), Origin

Eventually, I am really sorry that I chose the wrong section. I'd be glad if the moderators could move the thread to The Inner Circle - Sardelac Sanitarium. I've didn't noticed that. Thank you!

I believe WoW has something like this. I would love to have something like this. It bugs me seeing the chat full of WTS/WTB spam. We need an Auction House. You go in, put a Item in the Auction House and set the prices and time to be up for auction. When the auction is up, the winner is notified, they pay then the money is deposited into your account.

Wait for Chapter 2, it should have Auction House. Or something to fix the trading how it is now anyways.

good idea, though as said an Auction is planned. Though I think no matter what they do, there'll always be some morons in LA or Ascalon standing around shouting WTS! in local chat.

Doesn't matter if we have a trade channel, auction isle, or auction house, those inconsiderate spammers will still spam the general chat in every major city.
Some people suggested ANet to implement filters to diabled messages with WTS, WTB text in general chat. but then those spammers will juse write W T S, W.T.S., W-T-S, W1T1S etc ways to get pass the filter.
Annoying, I know. Now I just try not to go to any major town during peak hours.

Well, if they will, then there should be some kind of filter for blocking to show the messages from specific people. I belive, that if someone will be really SO annoying, I'll put him into the list. But look, we don't know exactly what would be happening if we get auction hall... And to the filters, true, they are not effective at all...

there is an ignore list (in the friend's window, "N")
but when there are 200 people spamming the local chat in every district in a major town with WTS messages, ignore list is pretty useless.

not sure the ignore list works overall or jusr for whispers, however, there is no other solution for selling an items yet. Don't suppose that those 200 people will be spamming the district when there will be auction hall...

I hope the auction house is easy to use.
1.Like if I want to sell something, I take it to the auction house and "deposit" the item with them and set what minimum price I would take for that item (like reserve price on ebay).
2.I then set the time period I wish it to be available for sale/bids.
3. After the sale period has ended I return to auction house and either a)collect the money from the sale or b) collect my item that failed to sell and if this is the case just re post the item at lower selling price.
As a buyer I could enter the auction house and choose a "booth" that is selling the type of item I am looking for ie: sword booth or cane booth or offhand booth and so on.
I can then scan a list of items for sale, select the one I wish to bid on (hopefully there would be a pic of the skin of the item somehow), and place my Highest max bid I am willing to pay for the item.
Then after sale period is over I would get and in-game message to return to the auction house to collect my item.
I have no clue how hard it would be to code this but trying to scan forums and then trying to bid in forums and then trying to set a time to meet the person in game just isn't very effecient.

Hopefully the system they use will be similar to what we are thinking sauce. But like others said, it won't stop spamming completely, but I do hope it reduces it signficantly.

I also think that the goal of the Auction isle thing is not as much to reduce spamming as it is to improve the overall ease of trading.
The thing that makes spamming annoying is not that you walk into town and there's a bunch of crap flying around, it is the fact that because of the crap mostly everyone ignores the screen altogther and as a seller (or buyer) you not only have to bank on the chance that someone will buy from you, but also on the chance that a prospective buyer happens to look at your ad as it flies by.
In short, for the above reasons mentioned, we need this venue to make the trading aspect of the game more efficient, not necissarily to reduce spam.
The only suggestion I might add is a comment feature that a prospective buyer could leave a post on the item you are selling stating the they might buy if the price were lower so that buyer is not lost because they had to wait a day for the seller to reassign a price that may not even be low enough yet.
Because of the easier interface, more potential buyers would be enticed to come shop, more sellers would be enticed to sell their product (even if it isn't a perfect item), and the entire system would see a boost in efficiency and cash flow.

Or you could try going to the least busy district of the major towns.
